Snow Report for 12/28/07:
West:
Western resorts have received enough snow to open most runs, with Colorado being the beneficiary of the best most recent snow. Aspen has a 37" base with 4" in the past 48 hours and Vail has a 33" base at mid mountain and is fully open. Further north, Wyoming and Montana could use a little more snow to open all of their runs. The 35-45" bases at Jackson Hole and Big Sky is enough to open 85-90% of runs. A snowy pattern for the next week is promising for most western resorts. Resorts in Minnesota and Michigan have received very generous snow this winter, rivaling the Rockies in terms of snow depths. Lutsen has a 30-40" base with 85% of runs open. Early snows created a great base in the East, while more new snow is providing a good freshening of surface conditions. Killington has a 44" base with 4 new inches in the past 48 hours, and Sugarloaf is reporting a 20-40" base with 14 of 15 lifts open.
