1/4/08 Snow Report

Snow Report for 1/4/08:

West:

Most Western resorts entered the new year with superb conditions.  Taos had its best December ever, sitting with a 60" base today.  Telluride has received 31" of snow in the past week.  To the north, Big Sky is reporting powder conditions with a 40-55" base.

Midwest:

The Midwest resorts are reporting base depths of 35-60 inches, with the Upper Peninsula of Michigan having very good conditions.  While they haven't had the new snow of the Rockies, they definately shared in the strong December conditions which built great bases.

East:

Bases at places like Killington and Stowe are in the 35-50" range.  The East is due for another coating of new snow, as powder is almost gone.  Still, the nationwide weather pattern which supplied the East with good early season snow created enough of a base for conditions to sustain.
